Indiana’s new Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels has named W. Harold Calloway, a State Farm agent, as the state’s new insurance commissioner.
Calloway, 58, takes over an agency with a $15 million budget and 75 employees that has been criticized in the past for too often siding with insurers against consumers. Calloway is Daniels’ second minority cabinet appointment. Calloway began his State Farm agency 19 years ago.
