Springfield, Ill.-based insurer announced that the universal shelf registration statement on Form S-3 it filed Dec. 16, 2003, was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company filed the registration statement to register the offer and sale by the company from time to time of up to $300 million of various securities, which may include debt securities, preferred stock, common stock and/or depositary shares.
No securities associated with the registration statement have been issued at this time, the multiline insurer focusing on educators’ financial needs said in a statement.
