Jeffersonville, Ind.-based today announced the original owners have repurchased the 51 percent of the company that Kemper Insurance Cos. had purchased from them in January 2001.
“Our relationship with Kemper was beneficial, and we were fortunate to partner with them,” said Lansdon Robbins, Service Net CEO and founder. “With Kemper’s current financial situation, we have re-examined our relationship and are doing what is in the best interests of our company and our clients.”
Service Net President Kevin Callahan said that even while partnered with Kemper, Service Net was independent in its day-to-day operations. “That independence extended to our underwriting. We always have and always will continue to use a variety of insurance companies to underwrite our contracts.” As part of the purchase agreement, Kemper has collateralized future claims on Kemper-backed contracts.
