Ascot announced the appointment of Patrick Kenahan as head of Excess Casualty in Bermuda. In addition, Jason Pugi, Kimberley Pursell and Michael Watkins were named senior vice presidents.
The team will write excess casualty insurance for large corporations across a broad range of industry classes.
Kenahan joins Ascot with over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, 16 of which have been in Bermuda. He joins the company from Allied World Assurance Co. where worked for 10 years as senior vice president and Bermuda branch manager. Prior to Allied World, he was vice president at Starr Excess where he worked between August 2003 and April 2009 in Bermuda, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He also had roles at Zurich North America, ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ and Lancer Insurance Co., his profile said.

Their underwriting acumen is consistent with Ascot’s underwriting philosophy and the brand that we continue to build on the island. The addition of this team means Ascot is now in a position where we operate in almost all casualty and specialty classes of business in the Bermudian market,” said Ian Thompson, head of Casualty & Specialty, Ascot Re.
