London-headquartered EC3 Brokers announced the appointment of James Murphy to the newly created role of head of broking.
Murphy joined EC3 on May 1 from Integro Insurance Brokers Ltd. and will be responsible for expanding EC3 Broking’s marketing activities and developing new partnerships.
Murphy has worked in the London market for 29 years, starting with Nelson Hurst and Marsh in 1990.
Prior to his time with Integro, which he joined in January 2017, Murphy was a director for the London-based based professional indemnity insurance broker Prime Professions (January 2006 to January 2017), which was purchased by Willis in 2013. He also was associate director for Howden Insurance Brokers (February 2002 to January 2006), according to his LinkedIn profile. Between January 1994 and January 2002, he was associate director for Heath Lambert Insurance Brokers.
EC3 Brokers CEO Danny Driscoll commented: “In building successful international professional indemnity (PI) divisions for Howden Insurance Brokers and Prime Professions, James has extensive knowledge of growing a profitable business in this market and he will also bring his expertise in managing and developing global MGAs as part of a diverse portfolio of business.”
