Hamilton Underwriting Ltd., the managing agency of Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd’s operations of Hamilton Insurance Group, announced that Robert Vetch has joined the agency as chief financial officer.
Reporting to CEO Dermot O’Donohoe, Vetch succeeds Simon Barrett who left Hamilton in December 2018 to pursue another opportunity. Barrett joined Hamilton as CFO in 2015.

Vetch comes to Hamilton Underwriting Ltd. from W.R. Berkley Corp. where he held the position of chief financial officer, WRB Underwriting, for nine years. Prior to that, Vetch was finance business partner, Brit Global Markets. His experience also includes seven years at QBE Insurance Group Limited and four years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in insurance and investment management.
Vetch is a graduate of St. Catherine’s College, Oxford University, and holds a master’s degree in engineering, economics and management. He is a qualified chartered accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
CEO Dermot O’Donohoe thanked Barrett, “who was with us virtually from the beginning of our establishment and who played an integral role in laying the groundwork for our development as a diversified specialty syndicate. We wish Simon every success in his future endeavors.”
