Specialty insurer Markel International has appointed Nicholas Davies as trade credit underwriter and senior risk analyst in Singapore.

Davies will focus on developing Markel’s portfolio across the region, in addition to managing existing broker and client relationships.

Davies reports to Abhishek Chhajer, head of Asia Pacific trade credit business.

Davies has 20 years of experience in the financial services sector having started his career in banking and asset finance. He joined Atradius in 2006 as risk underwriter, initially working in Cardiff and then Ireland, where he held the position of risk manager.

In 2012 Davies took on the role of senior underwriter, treaty reinsurance at Atradius Re, gaining experience of working in the Asia Pacific region. Most recently, he worked as senior underwriter at ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Europe in London.

The trade credit team in Singapore writes business throughout Asia offering comprehensive non-payment coverage on excess-of-loss and ground-up, multi-buyer and specific account basis.
