Milliman Inc., the Seattle-based global consulting and actuarial firm, is opening an office in Cape Town, South Africa. The office will be led by industry veteran David Kirk and will serve Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Cape Town location is a reflection of the sophistication and scale of the South African financial services sector and its role in leading financial services development on the African continent, the company said.
“The Cape Town office is the latest step in Milliman’s ongoing global expansion and is our first location in Africa,” said Bruce Winterhof, global life practice director.
The Cape Town office will provide a full range of actuarial consulting services to an array of clients, including life, non-life, and health insurers; banks; employers; and the public sector. Services will include modeling, analytics, merger and acquisition support, and industrialization.
