Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, the global risk and reinsurance specialist and member of Marsh & McLennan Companies, announced the appointment of Simon Smith as Head of EMEA & International P&I Business, effective September 1st.
He will be responsible for all the Global Marine & Energy team’s activities in the region and will also oversee all International P&I business. Smith will be based in London and will report to James Summers, Head of Global Marine & Energy.
He has 30 years of experience in the marine market and was previously Executive Vice President at Skuld Services Limited responsible for business development, as well as being a member of the firm’s Management Board. Smith was also a senior broker in the marine reinsurance sector for over 20 years.
