ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½

American International Group Inc. (ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½) has named Anthony Philip as president and CEO of American International Company Limited (ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½) in Bermuda.

Philip, a native of Bermuda, will assume his new position effective immediately. He succeeds David Valzania, who was recently named as head of Global Risk Solutions (GRS) for the U.S. and Canada.

In his new role, Philip will be responsible for leading ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s business strategies in Bermuda as part of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s Americas Region. He will manage all of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s daily operations in the country, including financial and general business matters. Philip will oversee regulatory matters and will act as ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s principal liaison with the Bermuda Monetary Authority. In addition, he will serve on the boards of American International Reinsurance Company, Ltd. (AIRCO) and American International Overseas Limited

Philip joined ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ in 2008 as senior vice president and general counsel for ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ in Bermuda, where he was responsible for advising on Bermuda law, regulation, and corporate governance, and managing corporate administration and compliance for the 35 ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ companies in Bermuda. Philip also acted as company secretary for all ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ companies in Bermuda.

Prior to joining ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½, Philip was part of the senior management team of Flagstone Reinsurance and West End Capital Management. He has also served as a corporate attorney in two law firms in the country, and was a manager at the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
