ACE Tempest Re Group has appointed Tim Mardon as Division President of ACE Tempest Re Bermuda. He will have responsibility for all operating aspects of the company’s Bermuda-based property and casualty reinsurance business, including underwriting, finance, claims and administration, reporting to Jacques Bonneau, Chairman of the ACE Tempest Re Group.
Mardon has over 22 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. He joins ACE from Torus Re where he served as President and Chief Underwriting Officer responsible for developing and underwriting the company’s reinsurance portfolio. Prior to joining Torus Re, he was Chief Underwriting Officer of Citadel’s reinsurance operations of CIG Reinsurance Ltd and New Castle Reinsurance Ltd.
He began his career in London where he worked for Terra Nova Insurance and Zurich Re before moving to Bermuda in 1996 to work for ACE Tempest Re Bermuda. He spent eight years with ACE Tempest Re Bermuda in property catastrophe and specialty underwriting, rising to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer for the company’s US Desk.
