Zurich Financial Services Group announced the appointment of Ant么nio C谩ssio dos Santos (46, Brazilian citizen) to the position of CEO LatAm General Insurance, effective May 1, 2011. He succeeds Peter Rebrin who has been appointed to the newly created position of Head Bank Distribution LatAm General Insurance.
C谩ssio Dos Santos will be responsible for “driving further profitable growth in Zurich’s General insurance businesses in Latin America aimed at strengthening its customer-focused leadership throughout the region’s insurance market,” Zurich said. He will report to Mario Greco, CEO General Insurance, and will be based in S茫o Paulo, Brazil.
He is joining Zurich from Mapfre Brazil where he has served as CEO since 2000. Before that, he held a variety of executive positions among others as General Manager of Whirlpool/Multibr谩s, as General Manager of AVIS and as Chief Financial Officer of Adri谩tica/RAS in Brazil.
C谩ssio Dos Santos holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University S茫o Judas Tadeu in S茫o Paulo, a MBA in Finance from IBMEC in S茫o Paulo, a MBA in Strategy from the Vanderbilt University in Tennessee and a Postgraduate Degree in Global Management from IESE, University of Navarra in Madrid.
