C. V. Starr & Co., Inc. announced the appointment of Rainer Breeck in Germany as Head of Casualty for Starr Casualty, a division of Starr Underwriting Agents, Ltd., and a wholly owned subsidiary of C.V. Starr.
The bulletin said he would “spearhead the effort to successfully enter Starr Casualty into the German marketplace in offering a breadth of casualty products, including general and excess liability, crisis management, kidnap & ransom and environmental impairment liability.” Breeck will be based in the Starr Underwriting Agents office in Cologne, and will report to Nicolas Berg, Regional Manager Europe, Starr Casualty.
Breeck was most recently Head of Casualty/Financial Lines and deputy branch manager at QBE Germany. Prior to that, he held various management and underwriting positions, mainly at Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG where he was Head of Industrial Casualty.

Furthermore, this is an important step forward in our long term strategy of continued expansion for the Starr Casualty franchise in Continental Europe.
