Marsh has appointed Joe Grogan to lead its Middle Market business in the UK and Ireland. In addition to these responsibilities, he will also retain leadership of Marsh’s operations in the Republic of Ireland, where he has been CEO since 2001.
Grogan will report to Martin South, CEO of Marsh UK and Chris Lay, Head of Marsh’s Sales and Middle Market business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will divide his time between the UK and Ireland, where the firm has six offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Belfast and Derry.
South commented: “We see major opportunities to grow rapidly and profitably in the Middle Market space and I am delighted Joe has accepted my invitation to lead our efforts. Joe is exceptionally well qualified for the position, combining impressive general management experience as a Country Leader with extensive knowledge of the Middle Market and deep understanding of the needs of mid-sized companies.”
South also thanked Chris Lay, who “takes up his broader EMEA Sales and Middle Market responsibilities,” for his “spearheading the revitalization of our Middle Market business in the UK. Due in large part to his contributions, we are in excellent shape to drive our expansion into this important market.”
