The Zurich Financial Services Group announced the appointment of Kristof Terryn (40, Belgian citizen) to the position of Chief Operating Officer for General Insurance (GI), effective January 1, 2009.
“In this newly created role, he will focus on managing the operational performance for GI thus enabling GI to leverage its global scale for local customer delivery by building upon the technical excellence and moving towards truly global operations,” said the bulletin
Terryn will be based in Zurich, Switzerland, and will report to John Amore, CEO General Insurance. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Global Corporate, and was previously the Group Head of Operations, Planning and Performance Management.
He joined Zurich in 2004 from McKinsey’s “Financial Institutions’ Practice”. He holds a law degree and a degree in economics from the University of Louvain and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
