Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Inc. has made two executive appointments in its international risk management and insurance services group.
Patrick Hickey has joined as managing director and national practice leader for international employee benefits. Hickey will be based in the firm’s headquarters in Chicago, Illinois and report to Dennis M. Donahue managing director and national practice leader, employee benefits. Hickey will be responsible for leading the firm’s international employee benefits practice. He will work with Wells Fargo Insurance Services offices across the country to deliver international employee benefit services.
In addition, Jim Gervang has been appointed head of International Risk Services and will lead the Wells Fargo Insurance Services international practice in the West Region, with responsibility for the oversight of all international services and resources required by property and casualty customers. Gervang will serve as one of the company’s senior technical and business development resources in the acquisition and retention of customers with significant international operations and exposures.
Gervang and Hickey will work with other members of the international and executive teams to manage relationships with members of the recently introduced Wells Fargo Global Broker Network (formerly HLA Global) and other international brokers. The Wells Fargo Global Broker Network currently has 10,000 insurance and risk management professionals in 330 offices across 70 countries.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Hickey was principal and senior advisor for Mercer’s International H&B Specialty Group.
Gervang has held a number of leadership roles in international brokerage networks. He is currently a Steering Committee member within the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN), and has been named an Advisory Committee member of the Wells Fargo Global Broker Network.
