ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy, a division of the property and casualty insurance subsidiaries of American International Group, Inc., announced that it has named Thomas Morelli President of the ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy Casualty division and David Hawksby President of the ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy Property division. Both men will be based in New York, and report to ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy President Ralph Mucerino. ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy serves clients in the oil, gas, petrochemical, mining, process industries and power generation industries worldwide.
Morelli will “be responsible for the primary casualty, excess casualty, middle market and international casualty operations of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy,” said the bulletin. “He previously headed ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy’s Primary Casualty insurance unit responsible for North America. He joined ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Global Energy in 2002.” He takes over from James Vendetti, who has been named Senior VP-Casualty at American International Underwriters (AIU), ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s foreign general insurance organization.
Hawksby previously served as President of the AIU Energy Division. He joined ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ in 1977 in London as an underwriter at Lexington Insurance Company, and held a succession of senior energy underwriting and management positions in the U.K. as well as the United States.
