American International Group, Inc. announced the appointment of Kevin Hogan as the senior ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ executive responsible for the recently established cooperative business relationship with PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited, China’s largest P/C insurer, in which ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ recently acquired a 9.9 percent stake.

“Mr. Hogan, in conjunction with PICC executives, will manage the development of accident and supplemental health (A&H) and related insurance products and services for the mainland China market,” said the announcement. “Based in Beijing, China, Mr. Hogan will also oversee, in tandem with PICC, product development, resource allocation and managerial appointments.”

Commenting on Hogan’s appointment, ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Chairman M. R. Greenberg stated: “Kevin Hogan has distinguished himself as the head of the ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Companies’ Worldwide Accident & Health Division, and will bring this track record of success to the PICC relationship. He is well suited to help consumers throughout China benefit from ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s vast experience and skill as the world leader in A&H and related products. These products will be marketed through PICC’s unrivaled distribution network, which serves approximately 70 percent of the country’s general insurance market with over 128,000 agents and sales representatives throughout China.”

Hogan joined ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ in 1984 in the American International Underwriters (AIU) Casualty Management Division. In 1990, he was named Regional Casualty Manager for AIU’s Southeast Asia region, based in Hong Kong. In 1996 he became General Manager of AIU’s Singapore office. In 1998 he was appointed President of AIU’s International Accident & Health Division. Subsequently he was elected ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Vice President, Foreign General Insurance in 2001 and was named AIU Chief Operating Officer in 2002, in addition to his duties as President of the Worldwide Accident & Health Division of the ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Companies.

“Anthony Galioto, formerly President of the Domestic Accident & Health Division of the ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Companies, will succeed Mr. Hogan as President of the Worldwide Accident & Health Division of the ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Companies,” the bulletin concluded.
