A 27-year-old Connecticut man has been arrested on charges of setting fire to a building that housed a mental health treatment facility where he lived, police said.
Firefighters and police officers were dispatched to a building in Clinton on Tuesday and found the building fully engulfed in flames, police said.
“Emergency responders quickly worked together to determine if any persons were still inside the house; so that a rescue could be attempted, if needed,” Clinton Police Chief Vincent E. DeMaio said in a news release. They determined that one had been injured in the blaze, he said.
As firefighters worked to control the fire, police began investigating the cause and determined that it had been intentionally set, DeMaio said.
Brandon Wyzkowski, a resident of a treatment facility in the building, was arrested on an arson charge. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could comment
