Workers’ compensation specialist The MEMIC Group has promoted Michael Carmody to claims director of the northeast region, which includes MEMIC’s New Hampshire, Connecticut and New York offices.
Carmody began his career in the claims industry more than 25 years ago with Travelers Insurance Company in East Meadow, N.Y. He has served in supervisory and management positions with three insurance carriers, an insurance broker, a third-party administrator and a self-insured employer. He joined MEMIC in 2015 as a regional claim manager.
The MEMIC Group includes MEMIC Indemnity Company, MEMIC Casualty Company and parent company Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company. As a super-regional workers’ compensation specialty insurer, The MEMIC Group holds licenses to write workers’ compensation across the country.
