Elephant Insurance, the Henrico-based, direct-to consumer insurance specialist, has announced Alberto Schiavon as its new CEO.
Founded in 2009, Elephant is a direct-to-consumer insurance company offering auto, home, motorcycle and life products to customers nationally. Headquartered in Richmond, Va., it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Admiral Group plc, an insurance company based in the U.K.
Schiavon has worked for the Admiral Group for the last five years in a number of senior positions. He joined the Group in 2012 as an international pricing manager.
More recently, he has been U.K. director of sales and marketing. Schiavon moved to Richmond, Va., in March 2017 to head marketing and pricing.
Schiavon takes over from Henry Engelhardt, the co-founder and former CEO of the Admiral Group, who recently stepped out of retirement to temporarily lead Elephant in March 2017.
Elephant is also currently recruiting for positions in both its Dallas, Texas, and Richmond, Va., locations.
