Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has hired David Valzania as customer and broker engagement leader for the eastern U.S. region. He is based in BHSI’s office in Boston.
Valzania comes to BHSI with nearly three decades of insurance industry experience. He was most recently president, ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ Multinational, Americas, at ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½. Before that he was president and chief executive officer of American International Company Limited (AICO), and president of ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s Cat Excess Liability. He also held several other senior level positions at ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ and its Lexington Insurance Company subsidiary.
Earlier in his career, Valzania held roles on the brokerage side of the business, including senior vice president, Client Executive, at Marsh & McLennan.
BHSI provides commercial property, casualty, healthcare professional liability, executive and professional lines, surety, travel, programs, medical stop loss and homeowners insurance. It is part of Berkshire Hathaway’s National Indemnity group of insurance companies, consisting of National Indemnity and its affiliates.
