The Norfolk & Dedham Group, a regional property/casualty insurer based in Dedham, Massachusetts, hired Michael Thompson as director, Finance and Investment.
Thompson is responsible for providing overall strategic direction for the finance operation of the company, and will play a prominent role in evaluating strategic investments and asset allocation.
With more than 30 years in investment management, Thompson’s experience includes a focus on asset allocation and risk positioning for insurance companies. His background also includes responsibilities as a portfolio manager and securities analyst specializing in the insurance industry. Most recently Thompson held senior positions with State Street Global Advisors and Wellington Management Company.
Founded in 1825, The Norfolk & Dedham Group consists of: Norfolk & Dedham Mutual Fire Insurance Company; Fitchburg Mutual Insurance Company; and Dorchester Mutual Insurance Company. The Group reports approximately $200 million in direct written premiums.
