Melville, N.Y.-based WKFC Underwriting Managers appointed Brian Specht as executive vice president, professional lines.

In his new role, Specht will be responsible for driving new business and product development across all professional lines, including but not limited to; lawyers, D&O, E&O, healthcare and more.
Specht is an insurance industry veteran with 24 years of experience. Previously, he was vice president of professional liability in commercial Insurance at Fireman’s Fund.
WKFC, which was acquired by Chicago-based Ryan Specialty Group’s RSG Underwriting Managers last year, is a managing general agency in the excess and surplus lines arena. Its business is comprised of property risks, general liability and specialty lines such as windstorm and earthquake deductible buybacks, equipment breakdown, inland marine, professional liability, weather, special events programs. Over 90 percent of its business is written through a network of 150 wholesalers located throughout the country.
