Allstate Insurance Company said on Tuesday that it is looking to appoint 140 new agency owners in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Allstate said the move is part of its strategy to ramp up its presence in the Northeastern region. The company also said it is offering a $5,000 referral award to those who refer a candidate who is determined as qualified and appointed as an Allstate agent in 2012.
“We see a significant opportunity in the current economy to attract entrepreneurs and mid-career, mid-level managers who are looking to own and operate their own business and represent Allstate,” said Jeanette Beard, Allstate’s insurance recruiting leader. The appointment would be subject to the terms and conditions of the Allstate agency agreement. Agency owners are classified as independent contractors, not employees of Allstate.
