Kimberly Latka, a claims specialist at S.H. Smith & Company Inc. in Hartford, Conn., was recently honored with the Statewide Claim Professional of the Year Award from the National Association of Insurance Women of Connecticut.
Latka joined S.H. Smith & Company in 2007. As a claims specialist, she is responsible for reporting all claims as they are received. She also assists agents with inquiries regarding claims and obtains loss runs. With her regional award, she is eligible for the National Council’s award which will be announced in Dallas early next year.
S.H. Smith & Company is a privately owned specialty broker. Founded in 1982, the broker has over $200 million in written premium with more than 100 employees. It has additional offices in Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, and Rhode Island.
