The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed fines of $104,200 against a New Hampshire steam generating plant following a January fire in which a worker was burned.
OSHA says in the incident, pressurized oil ignited after leaking from a boiler at Concord Steam. A subsequent investigation resulted in 73 allegations of willful, serious and other than serious violations of safety standards.
Concord Steam was notified of the alleged violations Monday. The company has scheduled an informal conference with OSHA for Aug. 10.
Company vice president Mark Salzman said the company is still reviewing the citations and had no comment.
