The Connecticut Insurance Department has fined subsidiaries of CNA Insurance Group a total of $96,000 for violations of state law.
The fines were assessed to CNA’s subsidiaries for alleged violations of laws regarding licensing and appointments of agents, loss of use and inadequate notice of renewal for commercial lines.
The companies that were fined are
— Transportation Insurance Co. of Illinois: $11,000.
— Transcontinental Insurance Co. of Massachusetts: $29,000
— Valley Forge Insurance Co. of Pennsylvania $44,000
— American Casualty Co. of Reading, Pennsylvania $12,000
CNA has complied with the department’s stipulations and final orders, and will submit a compliance report to the commissioner within 90 days, the department said.
