An employee in the city’s Department of Buildings has been suspended for “neglect of duty,” the agency announced.
Acting Commissioner Robert Limandri said Michael Carbone was suspended after an internal investigation. Department spokesman Tony Sclafani declined to give any further information, citing the ongoing investigation.
The New York Post in Sunday’s editions said Carbone, chief of the emergency response team and a crane inspector, was suspended for 30 days. The Post said Carbone had cleared some complaints of unqualified crane operators or fraudulent licensing without taking action.
