Joseph Vitale has been named senior vice president of GCFac, Guy Carpenter & Co.’s dedicated facultative reinsurance unit. Based in New York, Vitale will focus on both strategic and tactical operations management, working closely with Guy Carpenter’s facultative team on the design, operation and improvement of client and service delivery systems.
Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Vitale was U.S. team leader for Facultative Solutions at Benfield. He has more than 13 years of experience in the reinsurance and general insurance industry, including an eight-year tenure at Guy Carpenter from 1996 to 2004. Vitale began his reinsurance career at Sedgwick Re. He holds a degree in business administration from the New York Institute of Technology and was named 2007 Facultative Reinsurance Broker of the Year by Risk & Insurance magazine.
