a firm that serves an entrepreneurial community of 320 business owners with business services and products, has named Steven H. Lawrence to the newly created position of chief risk officer.
Lawrence most recently held the high-profile position of co-national practice leader of the insurance risk management practice at Ernst & Young. Lawrence brings more than 25 years of risk management experience, including positions with Fortune 500 companies PepsiCo, Mars, IBM and Hoffmann La-Roche.
Lawrence will oversee risk management services provided through Charter Partners including determining the optimal captive insurance program structure; enhancing safety services to member companies; and analyzing historical claims data on a community-wide basis to determine where risk management resources can be most productively applied.

Lawrence is a President’s Advisory Council member at the School of Risk Management of St. John’s University and a member of the Insurance and Risk Management Council of the American Management Association. He holds an MBA in finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a BBA from The College of Insurance. He is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and has earned the Associate in Risk Management designation.
