NYMAGIC, INC. reported that A.M. Best Company, Inc. reaffirmed its “A” (Excellent) rating for NYMAGIC’s insurance company subsidiaries New York Marine And General Insurance Company and Gotham Insurance Company.

Commenting on the report, George Trumbull, NYMAGIC’s chairman and CEO said, “The ‘A’ rating is a reflection of our strong capitalization, expertise in underwriting and history of earnings.”

NYMAGIC, INC. is a holding company whose property and casualty insurance subsidiaries specialize in underwriting ocean marine, inland marine and non-marine liability insurance, and whose agency subsidiaries specialize in establishing markets for such business.
