The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State announced that it has obtained approval to expand its NumberONE Comp program, “a monoline workers’ compensation market available to members, for their clients in the New York metropolitan area.”
Members of the NY State PIA have been able to use the program since June of 2002. This week, AmTrust Group agreed to extend the program’s underwriting to risks in New York City. “The program includes classes of business with ‘four-wall exposures’ (i.e., without outside risks), which meet its current criteria and generate a minimum premium of $500,” said the announcement.
“This product finally provides our members with an option for their clients needing small mono-line workers comp. coverage,” stated PIANY President David Isenberg, president of D.C. White Agency. “This is a welcome announcement to the metropolitan New York business community.”
The program is available to PIA members who are licensed in New York carrying E&O coverage with a minimum limit per claim of $500,000 and a B+ or better rated company.
Details about the NumberOne Comp program can be found on PIANY’s Web site at www.piaonline.org/NY/ and by selecting Workers’ Comp in the Quicklink Box, or by calling (800) 424-4244 ext. 850.
