The PMA Insurance Group, a Blue Bell, Pa.-based property/casualty insurer specializing in workers’ compensation, announced an alliance with PMSI庐, a unit of AmeriSource Bergen, to provide online pharmacy benefits management services specifically designed for workers’ comp lines.
The pharmacy benefits management program is the most recent addition to PMA’s overall medical cost containment program that already includes Preferred Provider Networks, two-tier Medical Case Management and Medical Bill Review. PMA’s clients can now utilize PMSI’s comprehensive retail pharmacy network, Tmesys(R), which is designed to control prescription drugs costs. Tmesys directly contracts with its own pharmacy network, comprised of most major pharmacy chains, as well as independent pharmacies.
