Information Technology employees appreciate working for Pennsylvania’s Harleysville Insurance, one of the country’s top ranked small commercial lines underwriters. It’s been named by IDG’s Computerworld as one of the 100 “Best Places to Work in IT” in the United States.
“Harleysville ranked #92 on Computerworld’s list, which was compiled by evaluating surveys submitted by Fortune 1,000 companies and major IT consultants. The publication judged companies on their career development opportunities, work force diversity, employee benefits, training and employee retention,” said the company’s announcement.
Harleysville’s Sr. VP and chief information officer, Wayne Ratz, indicated that the the recognition reflects the success of not only the IT function, but the organization as a whole. “Our companywide human resources strategy has been designed to attract the best people to our organization and reward them appropriately for their achievements. This latest national recognition is the direct result of successfully carrying out that strategy,” he stated.
