A.M. Best Company has affirmed an “A+” (Superior) rating of Houston-based HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. group of companies, consisting of Houston Casualty Company, U.S. Specialty Insurance Company and Avemco Insurance Company. In addition, the rating for HCC Life Insurance Company has been upgraded from “A” to “A+.”
The affirmation reflects HCC’s strong capitalization both group-wide and at its individual subsidiaries, as well as the company’s superior long-term profitability, conservative debt to capital ratio. Also considered was HCC’s strong and consistent debt service capacity.
