Kansas City, Mo.-based Lockton named Joe Agnello president of the insurance broker’s Kansas City property/casualty business unit.

Agnello, a 20-year Lockton veteran, succeeds Ron Lockton, who will devote more time to clients and global business issues for Lockton.

Agnello will work alongside Rick Kahle, president of Lockton’s Kansas City benefits operation.

Agnello is just the fifth president of Lockton’s Kansas City P/C business. Founder Jack Lockton, Chairman David Lockton and longtime executive Grover Simpson have also held the position.

Lockton also expanded its national employee benefits practice with the addition of Scott Behrens, J.D., as assistant vice president, compliance attorney in Lockton Benefit Group’s compliance services practice. He is based in Kansas City.

Before joining Lockton, Behrens was an attorney for Husch Blackwell, where he consulted with clients of all types and sizes to implement and maintain legal compliance for their employee benefits, including both qualified and nonqualified retirement plans.

Amelia, Ohio-based American Modern Insurance Group appointed Tammy Nelson as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. She will direct and manage the marketing and promotion of the organization’s products and services.

Nelson most recently served as vice president of marketing and communications at Luxottica’s insurance arm, EyeMed Vision Care in Mason, Ohio. Prior to EyeMed, she served in various executive marketing positions with Ameriprise Auto and Home Insurance in De Pere, Wis., where she rose to senior vice president of client acquisition.

Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Co. promoted Sabra Rowley to the position of assistant vice president – affiliate operations.

Rowley will oversee all of the management and operations of Brotherhood Mutual’s subsidiaries – the American Church Group agencies and MinistryWorks, the company’s payroll service for ministries.

Rowley joined Brotherhood Mutual in 2013 as director – affiliates. She is a CPA licensed in Indiana.

Brotherhood Mutual Insurance offers comprehensive property, liability, workers’ compensation and commercial auto insurance for churches and related ministries throughout the United States. Other programs include foreign liability and travel assistance for short- and long-term mission trips and ministry payroll services.

Portage, Mich.-based managing general agency and surplus lines broker J.M. Wilson promoted Cathy Baldwin to director of marketing and communication.

In addition to her role as marketing team manager, Baldwin will work closely with all department managers to assist them in reaching their marketing goals. Baldwin has been employed with J.M. Wilson for 24 years.

St. Paul, Minn.-based Securian Financial Group announced that Christopher M. Hilger, currently company president, will also serve as chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2015.

Chairman and CEO Robert L. Senkler, who will retire from active management after serving as CEO for 20 years, will remain chairman of the board of directors.

Hilger, 49, will be the 13th CEO in Securian’s 134-year history. He was appointed president in 2012.

A 27-year veteran of the insurance industry, Hilger also serves as CEO of Allied Solutions LLC, a Securian subsidiary headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., that distributes insurance products and services to financial institutions.

He joined Securian’s management team in 2004 when the company purchased Allied Solutions and was subsequently named senior vice president of Securian’s Financial Institution Group.

Senkler, a 40-year veteran of the company, has served as chief executive officer since July 1994.

Eastern Alliance Insurance Group (EÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½) promoted Chad Lengner to regional business executive in its Midwest territory.

EÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ProAssurance Corp., is a domestic casualty insurance group specializing in workers’ compensation insurance.

Lengner, who previously served as EÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s marketing manager for the Midwest region, will spearhead EÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½’s organic growth initiatives and manage the day-to-day operations in the territory.

Lengner brings more than 10 years of underwriting, marketing and management experience in the workers’ compensation industry. He began his career with Eastern as a college intern, joining the company full-time in 2004 and serving in various marketing and underwriting roles for the organization.

EÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½ entered the Midwest workers’ compensation marketplace in 2008 with the acquisition of Employers Security Holding Co.

Insurance broker Willis North America, a unit of Willis Group Holdings, appointed Andrew Gunn as managing partner of Willis’ Cleveland, Ohio, operations.

Gunn will oversee Willis’ Cleveland operations and be responsible for business development.

Gunn has 24 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined Willis in 2013 and previously served as senior vice president, Willis of Chicago. Before joining Willis, Gunn held prominent roles at Oswald Companies and ÌìÃÀÍøÕ¾´«Ã½´«Ã½.

South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard appointed Mark Willadsen, owner of Willadsen Insurance Agency in Sioux Falls, to the state House of Representatives.

Willadsen, 59, will represent District 11, filling the seat that was vacated by Rep. Christine Erickson, who resigned to assume her position on the Sioux Falls City Council.

Willadsen previously served in the House from 2005 to 2009 and 2011 to 2013. His current appointment runs through the end of 2014.

CNA promoted Chris Heckman to assistant vice president and hospital industry leader in Chicago.

Heckman joined CNA in 2012. In addition to his extensive underwriting experience, Heckman has also worked as an insurance agent, serving hospitals, physicians and other medical professionals, a perspective that will serve him well in is new role.

Heckman holds numerous industry accreditations including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), Associate Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) and Associate in General Insurance (AINS).

XL Group’s Global Professional group tapped John Coletti to lead its newly established North America cyber and technology risk business unit.

Previously cyber and technology underwriting manager within XL Group’s Select Professional business, Coletti is being promoted to chief underwriting officer of the new business unit.

XL Group previously provided cyber and technology error and omissions insurance coverage through its Select Professional business unit, which provides miscellaneous professional liability insurance to various business niches.

XL Group’s North America cyber and technology business is headquartered in New York City with underwriting offices in Chicago, Dallas, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.
