International Excess Program Managers, based in Cleveland, Ohio, added George C. Schmid to its executive team as vice president of program development.
Schmid has more than 30 years of insurance industry experience and has worked in executive capacities for multiple large insurance companies. He is a specialist in the areas of warranty, the material handling industry, public event coverage and the alarm security sector, and has earned his CPCU designation.
Wisconsin-based commercial insurance agency, M3 Insurance, announced that Elizabeth Donley, co-founder and chief executive officer of Stemina Biomarker Discovery Inc. in Madison, has been elected to the agency’s board of directors.
Donley will serve a three-year term, effective October. She replaces Charlie Meldrum, past president and CEO of M3 who retired in January 2005, and was elected to M3’s board in July 2007.
IMA Inc. announced that Brian St. Jacques has joined the firm as leader of its oil and gas and alternative energy team in Wichita, Kan.
Brandon Coffee also joins IMA as a risk control specialist on St. Jacques’ team, and Geoff Baker will continue his role at IMA as a claims advocate, transitioning to the energy division.
St. Jacques comes to IMA with more than 15 years of experience in insurance. He previously served as an energy sector leader for 天美网站传媒传媒 based in Houston.
Coffee has worked with a variety of industries including construction, petroleum/propane marketers, auto dealerships, implement dealers, tire retreaders, redi-mix dealers, machine shops and funeral homes across several U.S. markets. He also holds an Associate Risk Management (ARM) designation.
Baker joined IMA in 2012 as a commercial claims manager. He has more than a decade of risk management experience and specializes in large deductible insurance programs, international insurance programs, contractual risk transfer, and contract terms and negotiation.
Missouri Department of Insurance has named Maria Sheffield as manager of its captive program.
Sheffield has 17 years of insurance regulatory experience as an accomplished attorney and former insurance regulator. She began her insurance career at the Georgia Department of Insurance in 1996 before going on to work as a private attorney at a law firm that focused on insurance regulatory matters.
Sheffield replaces John Rehagen, who was promoted to deputy director of the division of company regulation earlier this year.
Rick Gregory has been selected as director of the Special Investigations Department (SID) at the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC).
Gregory will oversee 123 employees who work to deter, detect, investigate and prosecute workers’ compensation fraud. He was most recently chief of police for the city of Provo, Utah, where he was responsible for a workforce of more than 150.
Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Co. promoted Dan Book to vice president – sales and Mitzi Thomas to vice president – marketing.
Book joined Brotherhood Mutual in 1989 and previously was assistant vice president – sales and agency operations. He holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Associate in Claims (AIC) professional designations.
Thomas joined the company in 1995 and previously served as assistant vice president – marketing and communications. She is accredited through the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
