Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge and U.S. Rep. Mike Oxley (R-Ohio) will be the featured speakers at the 2005 Property Casualty Insurers Association of America’s annual meeting, scheduled for Oct. 23-26 in Chicago. Powell and Ridge will address diplomatic and homeland security issues, respectively.
Oxley will kick off the meeting with an opening address. He is the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, the Congressional committee that is responsible for insurance issues. Oxley and his committee will play a pivotal role in shaping legislation that affects P/C insurers including bills on issues such as regulatory modernization and terrorism insurance.
