This Tennessee city ranks No. 15 among the 50 most affordable cities for families to obtain health insurance, according to a study by eHealthInsurance.com in Mountain View, Calif. The monthly premium for health insurance in Nashville is $244.78 for a non-smoking family of four with a $2,000 family deductible and 20 percent coinsurance. Cities with the most affordable health insurance have a large number of health insurance options available for families. Of the 50 largest metro areas in the country, Kansas City, Mo., had the most affordable health insurance, with a monthly premium of $171.86 for a family of four. Kansas City was followed by Long Beach, Calif.; Columbus, Ohio; Tuscon and Mesa, Ariz.; San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, Fresno and Sacramento, Calif.; Omaha, Neb.; San Diego; Cleveland, Ohio; Phoenix; and Los Angeles. Boston ranked the most expensive city among the 50 major cities for health insurance, where the monthly premium was $767.30 for a family of four. Memphis ranked 19th with a cost of $263.
