The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation announced a Clark County woman has been sentenced for a felony charge of workers’ compensation fraud. Doris Marcy was sentenced to one year probation and ordered to pay court costs. BWC received a check for her entire restitution, $17,670.17, before the hearing.
BWC’s special investigations unit learned of possible fraud by Marcy through a confidential tip. The SIU was reportedly able to confirm that Marcy was working as an in home health-care provider while receiving workers’ comp benefits. Marcy suffered injuries to her neck, hip, shoulder and back while working for World Harvest Church. BWC awarded Marcy temporary total disability benefits for her injury.
