The Times reported the companies under investigation sell liability insurance for top-level team executives and directors, not players.
The paper cited two anonymous MLB executives.
Financial information on the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins and Seattle Mariners was leaked to the Web site, Deadspin.
